The Agency’s
Board of Directors is formed under the Chairmanship of the Minister of
Electricity and Energy, and membership of ten members. Three of those members
shall represent the Electric Utilities, three others experienced personal not
engaged with public Authorities, organizations, public sector companies, or
public business sector companies; and four representing the consumers. The
appointment and remuneration of the members of the Agency’s Board of Directors
shall be determined by a decree issued by the Prime Minister based on the
recommendation of the Minister of Electricity and Energy. The term of their
appointment shall be three years.
The Agency’s Board of Directors has a Secretariat determined by an MOEE
Ministerial decree.
The Agency’s
Board of Directors shall convene at the request of its Chairman at least once a
month and whenever it is necessary. A quorum of seven members in addition to the
Chairman is required. The decisions of the Board shall be taken by majority of
the votes of those present, and in case of equality the Chairman side will be
favored. The Board may call outside consultants to attend its meetings, they are
not authorized to vote.
The Executive Manager attends all the BOD meetings without right of voting.
