Agency History

1. Upon the perusal of Decree no. 326 for the year 1997 for establishing “The Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency”

2. On year 2000 and upon the perusal of decree no. 339 for reorganizing “The Electric Utility & Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency” defining its facilities and Board of Directors.

3. Board of Directors was formed in January 2001.

4. The managing director position was announced for selection, a process was conducted.

5. On May 2001, the decree of the prime Minister no. 605 was issued for the nomination of Dr. Mohamed Salah Elsobki (Jr.) as the first managing director of the agency for 5 years.

Dr.Eng. Hafez Abdel-Aal Elsalamawy

• Dr. Eng. Hafez Abdel-Aal Elsalamawy Assigned as the Managing Director of the Egyptian Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency according to the prime minister decree no.2275 of the year 2006 from 21/12/2006.

Eng. Abdel Rahman Salah Eldin

• Eng. abdel Rahman Salah Eldin Assigned as the Managing Director of the Egyptian Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency from 14/5/2006 till 21/12/2006 according to the ministerial decree no. 226 dated 14/5/2006.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Salah Elsobki (Jr)

• Dr. Mohamed Salah El Sobki Assigned as the first Managing Director of the Egyptian Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency from 11/5/2001 to 13/5/2006 according to the prime Minister decree no. 605 of the year 2001.
